Follow the links to the source from the home page at bzflag.org.

The source is in CVS on SourceForge.net.

Common sense: if you see a poll to set an unreasonable value, vote against it. If something's already set to an unreasonable value, start a poll to set it back. /poll works both directions, and it only works when a fair number of people want the changes to occur...initiating a poll doesn't automati...

There is a way to allow polls only for certain commands, such as kick, ban, and set. Manu and Pimpi have done that on viper. Not sure how they do it, but it's there. I think it ought to be defaulted off, to help the new admin avoid difficulties. But I can see why the capability should be kept in cas...

Good news. I've been asked a lot about this. And of course, I'm also interested for my use.

Thanks!

/poll set capabilities

I am concerned about what's happening with some of the servers and some user activity in the past few days. It seems that perhaps some of the servers are configured to allow anyone to poll for changing some server settings. 1. Two days ago, i saw a player (not admin or cop) initiate a poll to set _e...

2.0.2 builds?

I've been told, that there have been a lot of bug fixes since the Jan 17th release of the 2.0.0 builds. Is there likely to be another set of builds posted soon? Does it make sense to do so?

Re: HardWare configuration

My Avg. FPS in FC2 is about 40, that is A OK with me, considering how much better the graphics got! My Avg. FPS in FC3 is depressing. It stands around 15-20, it doesn't make any sence, they have the same configuration, the same driver, the same version of X11, and the same version of the X11 video ...

I think part of your problem is the GeForce 5200. I'm running an FX5600XP (that's the Ultra version) w 256MB of RAM, which is rated about 20-40% faster, and it's the second (supposedly bug free) version of the 5600. I have a 2.2GHz Athlon w .5GB RAM. With BZFlag 2.0 I've had to turn off some of the ...

That and poor map design. Perfect example is viper's castle. They have to limit radar shots because of the poor map design. you have a choke point, and "Defense" boxes. imagine if laser was unlimited, and GM was unlimited there... the server would rapidly end up at the bottom of the list....

because BZFlag is too slow for the Mac so the Mac's proccessor goes to fast for BZFlag so BZFlag chickens out and lock's up ;) Cute. Call of honor, what you're describing, for your personal view, is referred to in the video world as "picture in picture" and it's been around for many years. You can do this by routing your video into a vcr, dvd, switch, or even a tv that supports PIP. That's assuming you want to route it ...

Normally, a VIP wouldn't be carrying a weapon, he would be expecting defense from his team. He wouldn't be in any position to defend himself except by dodging bullets. Think that ought to be incorporated here?

In 2.0, MG on my computer starts firing a few milliseconds after I pick up the flag, and doesn't stop until I drop the flag. I haven't yet seen a way to make it work in a controlled way like in 1.x, tied to your fire button or key, whatever that is. That ruins its effectiveness. You can't try to cle...

Well, you have to read the results of this the next best way, then. There are 1196 registered users here. So far, 2 voted for adding the features, option 1. That's less than 2%.

Even discounting the inactive forum members, still a pretty small percentage voting yes.

I can't believe a rodent had to correct your relativistic physics. One thing that is very clear to me is that I haven't used enough of my relativity physics to retain it well. I was remembering the formula: Length =Length [observed] * sqrt( 1 - (velocity^2 / speed of light^2)) Except for some reason I was thinking that this was inverse, but I did know better. Proba...

For what it's worth, I have an NVidia 5600 series card from about 1 year ago. It crashes a lot, after anywhere from 5 minutes of play to 2 hours of play. I've been through 10 or 12 different driver sets now, and it still crashes at random intervals while playing bzflag. That's the only OpenGL softwa...
