trop...look at the title says: linux from the source :D OS is linux Well in order to walk you through getting curl, sdl and the bunch I need to know what distro you are on. Assuming curl, sdl, curses, and the compiler on your system are 100% though, you can try to do the following: (type into a ter...

New Zombie GameType Pre-Alpha

Description Based on one of my bizarre ideas on IRC, L4m3r has designed an entirely new gamemode. Known as Zombie (Virus in sub-pre-alpha tests), the goal of this game is very simple. One player in the game is a "Zombie", he will appear as a zoned tank, but I assure you he can shoot you. ...

Re: (New?) Spawn server variables

/set _spawnSafeSRMod 3.000000 3 /set _spawnSafeSWMod 1.500000 1.5 I think those two are the number of seconds you are safe from SR/SW when you spawn. -Tanner I can say for (well not completely) certain they are. If you set the SW really big, people start spawning at like 500ft after getting hit by ...

Ok I had this explained to me a little while ago. I might still be wrong. I have been told either bzfs or the client (I don't remember which) sends stats to the listserver at a frequency determined by how many players are there. This means if the listserver goes down and then back up, a 20-player se...

Just do bzfs -world [pathtomap] on a command prompt in that case. Dunno if you even want to bother figuring that out though.

I would be depending on what compiler you use. If its ICL I would be very interested.

Whatever you do, please don't use the BZFlag build in Debian. Its a bad build and has been the cause of many honest players being accused of cheating.

There are many people here who can post a working .deb if its needed

This idea was actually stolen from Tropican8, who achieved the same effect with using the Janitor plugin. Meacan had the original idea to use Janitor that way. Its even in his Janitor documentation as an example of how to write Janitor scripts. I just used it on my server (and was the 1st to to the...

Those were the two reasons I used dark colors. They look so much better and it separates blue and purple IMHO.

Especially since you can't compile it in any sort of bootable environment, not enough ram for most. I tried compiling the server under knoppix and my computer crashed miserably under low resources.

A server binary is a must.

Can you set the Colors for each team? In 4-team CTF some of them look off unless you do darkred, darkgreen, darkblue, and purple (not dark).

hard to say with out debuging the exact problem. I'm just saying it's NOT something that is in the code ( like a limit ). me1,

Try ./configure --enable-shared --enable-plugins

After make and make install, they should be in a /lib as Darth said. That's /usr/local/lib if you do a checkinstall or default (no argument) make install.
