Re: BZExtreme Hosting
I believe we have a global limit of 300ms lag. You *might* get kicked. Our happiness of hosting your map depends entirely on the quality of the map.

Re: Banning a whole country
Some players are so bad and evasive that you need to take it to the extremes like that. It's the sad reality..

Re: Laser Sniping CTF
The design and quality of the building for sniping will either make or break the map. You don't want it to be a solid lineup of tanks shooting eachother, you want tactics. Say if a really good player/sniper were to get to the building then s/he would shoot anything that appeared infront of him. Take...

Maybe you weren't
You could always modify the code to tell the bots not to go towards death objects. I suggest you only do this if it's for a private game. If this was on a public server that actually allowed bots I'm sure it would be considered cheating.

Mrapple's server would also be a good choice because it's fast, has a large connection, and good uptime

I think it's been more than 3 years...I don't think anyone is motivated right now to work on it, the developers do it on their own time and they don't get paid.

Re: Apple iOS Port WIP
Wow, someone is actually trying to port it... Good luck! As for controls you can shake to jump and yes a mousebox like control would be good with lockon/identify, fire, burst fire(maybe. Mod needed), drop flag, and various chat buttons. I wish you the best of luck and I hope you don't give up. You w...

Re: A Few Ideas
By bzflag updates you mean new client releases? Yes, but it takes FOREVER. I believe ubuntu currently has 2.0.12 and the latest official release is 2.0.18(?). It's faster and better to compile it yourself on your computer.

Your start server idea: Start server has been removed from the client code and turned into a different program for the next major release of BZFlag. Map Editor: not everyone needs or wants to make maps. There are many different ways and programs to create maps, such as any text editor, bzedit, ibzed...

It's the same. You have to do more (add 3 lines/parameters) to get a public server working. You can ignore them for creating a test server.

Some of those commands are for 2.99.x/3.0.0 servers, such as the lua / commands.alezakos wrote:Many more commands here: http://bzstats.strayer.de/bzinfo/commands/

Re: Guide on How to Run a BZFlag Server on Mac OS X
Why Do You Capitalize Each Word In A Sentence?
For running it in a terminal takes about 2 lines...cd to the dir with bzfs then bzfs -conf /path/to/config.conf
You could also get a script to do most of the work.
