Re: GRAGH!! NEED HELP W/ MAPS ON OSX!
Alright, first off, how do I start a server on OSX? Second, how do I incorporate a map into this? -Thanks Depends on whether you want a public server or a private server and what options you want to run. The bzfs binary is embedded in the BZFlag application bundle on Mac OS X (meaning you have to u...

I don't seem to get quite as good an arial view of the field when you aren't playing as much. Not that I don't get a lot of arial views.. but it's most always fun to play against mr bad *ss.

don't get me wrong, but it is that kinda style that we are talking about learner, if you want to play for fun then don't join the league. the league is for real official matches, i do see your point and can understand and respect it, but there is just no place for this mentality in the league. Henc...

Mac OS X and config file colors
You do need quotes, though depending on your version of bzflag, those values may not get used (the textures are used). If you don't have any luck with quotes, you'll need to modify the tank texture images (using an image app like Photoshop or iPhoto or gimp, etc). If you want to try modifying the te...

Mac OS X and windowed mode
For a variety of reasons, the Mac OS X client cannot run in windowed mode, nor can the application be switched out. You have to quit the game. There's not much that can be done. The Mac OS X port is the newest BZFlag port and continues to improve. Windowed-mode is one of the last remaining features....

Re: How to run bzflag server on Mac OS X
The bzfs binary is stashed inside of the BZFlag application bundle. So if you put BZFlag into your /Applications folder, bzfs will be at /Applications/BZFlag-1.10.4.app/Contents/MacOS/bzfs for bzflag 1.10.4. Open up terminal app and you can run bzfs by providing that full path. See this for help: /A...

Why bother?
I can't imagine any of the developers presently contributing to the project (I can count them on one hand) that would actually bother with a cheat client. There's simply just little to no incentive, motivation, or reward. It's not like it's an intellectual challenge to make a cheat client, there's n...

Side note
On a side note, most any of the major new features being considered will also incur backwards incompatible releases.. This goes for fixing the networking, karma, and other planned ventures. So another forced update is pretty much a given whenever those features are completed. That's perhaps the topi...

When should we release 1.10?
As many of you know well enough, 1.10 has been in the works for several months now and includes several noteworty features. It's the next official release since 1.7g2. It's completely not backwards compatible with the current clients and servers so everyone will have to upgrade. Should the we do all...

Re: weather
To be honest, it's one of the better ideas I've heard in a long time.. It's not anything easy to make happen, but it's good to get the idea posted here for those darn developers to keep in mind..
I hear they work harder if you feed them snacks.

Wow, what a rigged poll. There are basically two choices. "Yes" and "I'm too stupid to think"
Not exactly an intelligently useful poll in my book. I'll opt out of voting for this one.

Bah, there's not enough samples to qualitately say anything yet other than a majority don't find it "cheating" perhaps. The point is that unless it's deemed "cheating" it _is_ a skill that can be utilized. Using it in desparate situations probably falls into the "foolish&quo...

It's been a while..
My history is nice and short. I started playing last fall (almost a year now!) and began my "learning" phase. After many repeated comments by others that I was "no longer a newbie", I was urged by many (*ahem* many players) that I should join a league team. I had no such plans to...
