Servers are down for a bit...

My bzflag servers are down for a bit, possibly 2 weeks. Ripped my study apart, remodeling, hence everthing is disconnected. I'll let you know when they're fired back up. :)

Is the above set up acceptable to all? Instead of altering the current ffa server, I'll fire up a new one (24.194.98.76, port 59999) which won't be shown on the server list, (similar to the ducati ctf match server). Let me know by 21:00 UTC today what you'd like the final setup will be. Also, you'll...

RESOLVED!!

Feel kinda silly now  I found out the problem, the maps I tried to use, I first had opened up in Abiword. After opening the maps with vi editor, I noticed Abiword added tons of language/font garbage to the file. You don't see this in Abiword, as it hides it like anyother word processor. Anyway...

it sounds like a 1.8 map being loaded into a 1.7x server, or there is extra crap in the map file. What version of the server are you running? Where did you get the map? Current server version I'm running is 1.7g0, I've also had the same problem with 1.7e6. I don't think the map is the problem. I've...

Problem adding world to bzfs...

I recently moved my bzflag server to debian 3.0. I've tried to add the switch "-world mapname", with no success. The error I receive: test.bzw(1) : invalid object type "<?xml" (test.bzw is the custom map) At first I thought maybe the custom map I was adding was buggy, so I tried ...

I just use a text editor myself, not sure what issues you're having with the map editor. But open the file up in notepad, there should be a line stating what color the base is: color 1 = red color 2 = green color 3 = blue color 4 = purple example: #!name red base base position 0 0 0 rotation 0 size ...

looking for feedback...

You can see the current configuration in the post above. Some of you who know me, know I'm partial to CTF gameplay (low shots, no jumping). But I'm trying to post a server that's a bit different from the others, not for my own gameplay, but for all the BzAddicts out there. There seem to be a few goo...

Update...

Just for sh*ts and giggles, I updated the firmware on the linksys router. Seems to have done the trick. I have the same setup as before, ports 5155 & 5156 forwarded to the debian box and nothing bzfs related to the win2k box. Thanks for all your (isfry) comments and anyone who bothered to read i...

Wierd bzfs issues...

Ok, here's my issue: -I have a cable connection, 99% of the time I get 400k upload and 2mb download. -I'm running bzfs on debian 3.0. -The bzserver is using port 5155. -I have a linksys firewall forwarding ports 5155 & 5156 to the debian box -I also have a win2k pro pc. The only ports forwarded ...

Server Rules: No Cheating No Abusive Language No Teammate Killing Other than those three, I'm pretty laid back. I have my own set of trusted admins. I don't make any other rules regarding gameplay; if you want to chase a certain tank, go for it. If I have flags or jumping enabled on the server (whic...

Thanks, but that is different from the problem I was referring to between version 1.7g0 and 1.7g1. The actual lag did not equal what was being shown in the stats (over 300,000 ms). As far as your note about last night, we got dumped on here again (5 feet total in 2 weeks) with snow, about 2 feet las...

Downloaded 1.7g1, map looks proper. It also looks proper on 1.7g0, (I was originally running the server 1.7e6). One thing with 1.7g1 though; All players who joined showed lagstats of over 400,000 ms. Obviously it was inaccurate. I even joined my server on the p.c. that is running the server and was ...

Chestal, Well, I'm pretty sure the degree and the dimensions at which the bases are set in the file is how they appear "out of the tank". As far as the view via the radar, that is funky. The bzserver is running on a Win2k server (not linux, sorry, my linux box is an antique). Is the new CV...

that's not the issue...

Actually, I've already had them as square boxes. Go ahead and change them to whichever size you want. If you set them to perfect squares, they will display on radar and out of the tank as perfect squares. The angle at which the blue and green bases are at is 30 degrees. Go to radar zoom level 1 (big...

I removed everything except the bases and it's still funky. I left a note in the .bzw file for you, let me know what you think. I think it's a bug.

CTF "base" question...

I'm currently running a little 3 team CTF map I made, nothing fancy. The wierd thing is the bases. Looking out of your tank the bases appear as they should appear. But when you look at them on radar, the angle of two of the bases (green & blue) looks off and the size of the base appears larger t...

what version?

What operating system are you running?
What version of BZFlag are you using?
You can get the latest version of BZFlag (1.7g0) at:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/bzflag
Just install the download (for Windows, it's self extracting).
