maybe that helps you or new Ubuntu compilers to get a BZFlag-Server running. this were the steps i had to go through on a newly installed UBUNTU 9.10 (i only compiled BZFlag server though ::: for the client it might need more libs to be added?!). >what you need aptitude install autoconf aptitude ins...

the undefined-references to ::: dlsym dlclose dlerror dlopen ::: were new (checking all my useless attempts i saved)!

a simple reinstall of "libdb-devel" did the job!
all works fine now (including the plugins)!

less lucky here! libtool --version ltmain.sh (GNU libtool) 2.2.6 everything compiles fine ( except plugins! ) and therefore getting the same errors as Grans when connecting to a server: /listplugins > Unknown command but ::: ./configure --enable-shared --enable-plugins --disable-client --enable-bzad...

thx for your comments! (the "x-mas themed" was just an excuse for the fancy coloring ::: but it needed some differentiation for a better overview and showing the elements i used from the other maps ) i was trying to vamp up the screenies with rendering the map as an obj-file  .

Map:Rendering

you folks all know the command "/saveworld -o mapname.obj" ::: right?

locate and open the saved file in a 3D app ::: add some lights, find a nice point of view, start rendering and you'll get something like this!

almost x-mas and 2010 rolling in ::: time for a review 2009. my way was to fuse some "successful" maps i made this year into a single one ::: taking bits and parts of DuPi, OCut, PiCo Bello and CrissCross and combining them into a single CTF, 2 shots and non-jumping map. adding some fancy ...

Re: passbox to pass team flags in a nojumping map.

sometimes solutions are that easy! ;)

thats much better ahs3 and thx for sharing!!!!

i think this idea opens up a whole new style to bzflag with the need for some serious team-play! i started a while ago a thread in the "Enhancements" section ::: pass team-flag to player which is basically about the REAL football (that you guys call soccer ;-) ) and using a flag as ball th...

scripting to create a random map which is not random

I would very appreciate the help of a scripting-wizard, who could find a solution to write a script that creates a random world/map based on the layout of the DuPi map ... (001.bzflag.fr:5140) DuPi is set-up with 4 diagonals crossing out from the center, made of small boxes and pyramids with differe...
