How about going ~away~ from your base deducts that many points. moving more then 300 bzw units away will blow you up, and put the flag where it started. that'll prevent people from teamcapping, and every 100 units, you get a notification The only problem with that is, what if you want to hide your ...

This is an idea that's been explored in many multiplayer games before, and IMO is perfect for BZflag. Upon reaching a certain number of points (or caps, if it's a CTF map), you get a certain reward every time you spawn. If you drop under that number of points, you obviously lose the reward. True, the lack of speed might make it harder to use then Laser. Maybe if you increased the speed...but would that make it too overpowered?

Or perhaps combine it with an existing underused flag like IB.

SC.. you can already zoom with binocs, the reload time/range thing has some merit, but since it is a flag the not moving part makes you a sitting duck and no one in their right mind would hold on to the flag I think Stij meant you will still be able to move when you're not zoomed in with the scope....

Scope (SC): Turns your binoculars into a deadly accurate scope! You can zoom in and out while using the binoculars with up and down on the mouse (or arrow keys, if that's your thing). Also, the range of your shots is increased, at the cost of longer reload time. Also, you can't move forward and back...

Wouldn't it be cool if you could destroy bullets coming at you by shooting them? Either that, or when two bullets collide have them rico away in opposite directions...

Could add a new bit of strategy, especially on maps where you don't have much room to dodge, like "no jumping" maps.

Yeah, Theme97's sever is similar to what I was talking about. I'll ask him, but to be honest I don't know crap about making maps. :P
