Getting 1 point for losing

Post by Mrhankeythechristmaspoo »

I think that you should not get any points for losing in a 1v1 match in the 1v1 League. I think this because that a noob playing who likes the game could play tons of games and get like 35 points. Then they are beating all the other good people that won. They are better than the noob but the noob beats them in ranking because of them playing more often. I think it is unfair. What do you think?

The point is; you are rewarded for playing lots of matches...

Everyone starts out as a noob, and I can't invision someone staying a noob after beating enough people to have a higher rank than a pro. By then, they 'are' pro. But w/e, I don't play in that league, so I might be mixing up my facts.

not necessarily, some ppl dont learn from their mistakes. they may be playing many more matches than the good players and be outranking them just because of it, but it doesn't make them good. its just makes them active players.

one flaw of all leagues/tournaments made for bz is inactivity. it's a good idea rewarding activity within the monthly tournaments to keep the tourney active.
and btw. do you really think one noob luckily beating another noob is better than one losing three times against a "pro" ?

Nobody starts as veteran, and you only become one by playing a lot. Lets encourage newbies to practice.

Is there actually a universal player ranking?

sure, there's a ranking named Zelo, and it's completly independent of the monthly tournaments.
I'm not really happy with the way it's calculated, but this might change some day by Zongo's judgement.

have look at the 1vs1 site at http://1vs1.bzleague.com/
