What is a league? How does it work? How do you join one?

Pardon this barrage and I'd appreciate an answer :D .

HTF is Hold the flag

Yoda has taken it over from Chikumz and now runs it.

You know, If you went and read the site bryjen gave you, you would understand what the differences are.

Allied Armour,

Yes, the HTF league is that. read rules and front page for info.

ducati is 2 shots, red v. green, rico, CTF, no jumping
gu is 3 shots, red v. purple, rico, CTF, jumping
adrenaline is 3 shots, red v. green, rico, ring map w/ many rings in concentric circles, CTF, no jumping
- adrenaline league also features pillbox (3 shots, red v. green, no rico, no jumping, CTF)

sorry to say, i havent really done mofo ... :? so i dont kno much..

but ask A-Delusion, he is the founder.

some more differences:

-the CTF league uses random ducati style maps .
-the GU , Adrenaline, and Pillbox leagues also play CTF , but use their own specific map .
-the MoFo league uses their own set of map(s).
-the HTF league plays the HTF gamestyle . and can use both random or set(fixed) maps . although most matches are played on random ducati style maps .

it's likely that each league has their own unique rules and policies too .

A-Delusion is founder of the MOFO league

ducati is a motorcycle ( i think ) Chestal, the founder likes motorcycles and named it after that.

i think that's right.... and just so you kno the HTF league has moved to:
htfleague.com

thanks![/url]

Put a www. before your URL, and magically all your BBCode will work!

Yes, sometime in the near future (as i'm planning it), the MOFO league will be reborn with a working plugin and everything.

By the way, you don't need to stick with just one. Personally, I'm involved in six different leagues right now. (HTF, Adrenaline, CTF, Fun CTF, Gu, and 1vs1) I play about 2-3 official matches a week, and several more "fun" matches if I can get them.

Fun matches differ in that you just show up, teams are assembled ad hoc, and the match starts. http://fun.bzleague.com is an attempt to keep track of these fun matches, and every member there gets an individual rating. BTW, this site, to my knowledge, only keeps track of Ducati style fun matches.

http://1vs1.bzleague.com is a league based on 1 vs 1 play on the 1vs1.pimpi.org servers. Everyone there has an individual rating, and the occasional "championship" tournament happens too. Currently, there is some discussion about having one around the end of the year holidays. This, also is based on ducati style, but there is no CTF play, just free for all with each player having 10 "lives". Deplete the lives, and you lose.

Most CTF leagues are centered around the simpler forms of play. In other words, no superflags, and often no jumping. Mofo is a big exception to this.

Personally, bzflag really started to become the best fun for me after being invited to join a league team. It's fun to run into your team mates, and other league members start to get to know you too.

as previously stated, the Mofo League (www.adelusion.com) is pretty well inactive, though A-D and RPG have gotten the RaceTo# plugin working pretty well. that, and the return of some players shall give the league a kickstart.

well...mofo does

HTF also does. the plugin is optional, but if the plugin is there it automatically keeps score. otherwise you have to keep your own scores, which is a pain....

oh and lh is right.

i'm in just as many.....(htf, gu, ducati, adren, 1 v 1, mofo, and fun ctf)

i like ducati more, so i play it on more of a basis than the others. i still play the others, but i prefer ducati

its all on preference. choose what u wanna be in and Have FUN!
