That's like askin' if mouse box size or mouse itself matters. Nobody can say this matters and this doesn't. It's what you make matter, that counts. A lot of people ignore technical stuff like DPI and just play. If you don't feel comfortable immediately with something, just try and use it for a couple of days. Mouse sensitivity does take a lot of getting used to. Personally, I never messed with it, just plugged in my mouse and played. Don't really see much sense in getting all fussy about it.

I dont think it matters that much, im ok dodger i think and i use normal office mouse i dont even know how much dpi and 0 as mouse box size(thats default?). Though it would be cool to try gaming mouse, if it makes any difference. Some say it does, so opinions might differ. Remember there are great keyb players also.

I have a Logitech G5 gaming mouse with 2000 DPI. I find it works great for dodging, as I can have it on 2000DPI for dodging, then switch it to 1000 for a precision jump. I went from a cheap optical mouse to a gaming mouse, I really felt the difference, even though it was $79 Canadian.

well, here we go again. it used to be discussions of mouse speed enhancing software.
now high dpi mice. this is nothing new, they've both been around a long time. throw in a small mousebox and you have a really fast responding tank. throw in a blazing internet connection, and you're all set.

yep, all 4 (and more) give you an advantage of a quicker moving tank in relation to when you move your mouse. some tanks i can't hit who are right in front of me broadside. they jerk forward and back so fast i can't even hit them. the really good, young players with great reflexes have adapted to this and take it all in stride.

there is nothing illegal about it. but it is a shame we don't have a level playing field, as QD used to say (probably still does). the simple fact is that software and hardware does give an advantage.

sounds like Bambino has the best of both worlds - a fast dodging tank, and a slower, more controllable one for maneuvers.

I don't know much about that stuff, I'm very low tech on my mouse, got the gateway optical mouse that came with comp on fastest setting that comp allows when adjusting in control panel, and a size 20 mousebox. For my laptop though, I got a Laser mouse that's super fast (dont know how fast, not a gaming mouse though, remember fast is relative and I'm used to EXTREMELY slow mice), same mousebox though.

update on subject:
i recently got me new mouse(gaming one) and i do recommend it over "old office mouse" to everyone. i cant believe how much easier it is to play with it, lot less movement needed. i dont think it makes me any better player, just playability is 100% better. even my shoulder pains are gone:P.
