GU League Player Poll - 20 min matches

Hey guys!

I know it's been discussed whether or not to allow 20 minute matches as an option for match length in the GU League before and the general consensus was a no. However, the GU Administration Team has decided to initiate a poll to see what the league thinks of the idea at this point in time. It could be a beneficial change for activity, but overall you, the players should decide.

So this is how this works. To decide what time limits to allow in the league for official matches, please choose one of the following 3 options and reply letting us know specifically which one you chose (and why, if you would like). Your votes will be tallied up.

Note: One vote per member of the GU League.

Option 1. Keep the match setup the way it is, 30 minute matches only.
Option 2. Make all matches 20 minutes in length and end the 30 minute matches.
Option 3. Allow both 20 and 30 minute matches.

Option 3. I could barely play 30min matches due to being constantly busy and I think this would be perfect to increase the league's activity.

Definitely 3. The option to take shorter matches would be very nice, but I wouldn't want to eliminate longer matches.

Option one. It will bring activity for a few months then people will get bored like the rest of the leagues. 30 minutes is a good time:) Ugh if option 2 is used i'm leaving bz lol

Option one, definitely - 20minute matches may work in the Ducati league, but I've played multiple 20 minute matches in the GU league and it just doesn't feel right, nor is it enjoyable to play. If option two is chosen, I'll be doing the same as Chris.

Some reasons why the teams should have the chance to decide:

# For beginner teams, a full 30 min can be tough (I know, we are all pros now
# Matches between two teams with extemly different strength. 30 min playing just for a 12-1 is a waste of time.
# I prefer playing a 20 min match instead of none ("I dont have 30 mins right now")
# With the less active players right now its easier to set up a 20 min match
# If you are observer and want to do the next match, waiting 20 mins till they finish is better than waiting 30 mins.

Allowing to choose doesnt mean you have to play 20 min matches if you dont want, but it gives the possibility for those who want to; you dont loose anything. Just saying no would be a little bit selfish.

(no offence, some matches are interesting, but 80% is a complete waste of time).

Option 1 most definitely - 20 min matches are ridiculously short. Whats next? 15 min? Get outta here.

1) 20 min matches are NOT enjoyable
2) 30 min matches give the chance for bad starts to be rectified
3) are we seriously using "waiting times" as a reason to have 20 min matches..?

I for sure won't be playing a 20 min if its put in place.

Also.. can we get this poll on the gu site somewhere, rather than at bb.
The players that can actually be bothered to vote here want 20 min matches, hence the current result which I don't think reflects those in the league.
