Callsign Changes

How come you cant put the '!' sign anymore and all the other ones?

special characters are being dissolved as we get ready to move towards a new login system.

What about people who had special characters a long time ago? Will they have to change their callsign?

Yes, their login may cease to function after the new login system is put into place. We should have a migration page for users though, as passwords would have to be migrated over as well.

At some point, the most likely answer would be yes...
We are looking to move to an LDAP architecture with it providing authentication for all of our services (forums, in-game, wiki, image submitter, etc...). Many characters are problematic in several of these applications and we must take these limitations into consideration.
