I've just noticed that I have outgoing messages piling up in my Outbox; don't know if there is a general problem with PM messaging or if its local to my system. Any else seeing this?

That just means that the people you have sent them to have not read them. They go to "sent" when they are read. It allows you the ability to "unsend" before they are read. The messages do not actually "go" anywhere like emails do.

So it is working as it should.
