GU also has a spawn only group
can spawn & play but cannot talk on match servers.
Sanctified and Latin Heat are currently in this group
History: Since they have predominantly sat in obs and basically talked nonsense or trolled, this was created to give them the opportunity to show earnest effort to play in fm or officials first. Otherwise these 2 have contributed nothing in the way of activity for the league and more to the aggravation of players.

This could be a place to reduce bans on annoying players, but still allow them to contribute positively to the league...perhaps /mute bans (can spawn etc. but not talk) could last for a number of matches played rather than a set amount of weeks?

Yeah if players need to talk in teamchat badly enough they can use teamspeak

"Spawn only" just sounds like a fancier name for muting players to me... it doesn't sound bad to mute players instead of imposing a harsher ban on them.
Although I wonder how muted players are going to ask to "2in".
Maybe it would make sense to only allow a strict subset of words?

Agree on there only being a spawnonly group. For someone who wants to join an fm, they can just rejoin with that as his/her callsign. Obviously, there has to be a limit to that so it's not abused to have conversations and spam people's screens with constant rejoins, but yeah, it's easily monitored

The league overseer plugin could get a new feature for spawn only players that lets them trigger pre-defined messages.

I like the idea of a spawn only group. A subset of words allowed during matches is awesome. It should be spam-safe. Also the idea that you are in this group for a certain amount of matches is awesome.

Nice idea to allow certain messages through. Would certainly help achieve what we wanted to with spawn only group
