Game time limits

Post by matelich » Thu Mar 29, 2007 8:47 pm

So, I decided to put my server up on the public list to get some outside talent besides my coworkers and I. We run with seven minute games (helps remind us to get back to work after a game or two).

The problem I have is that it appears that the public list's querying of the system causes the timer to kick off, where normally it would wait for the first user to join for the timer to start. Not a major issue, but annoying to join into a game with only a minute left.

Just something to live with or is there a work around?

Thanks

You could set it to give yourself more time.

It's not a huge deal, I'd just like to have the time limit tied to actual players, like it is when not a public server.

Set a countdown. When all the players have joined, and you feel it necessary to begin, start the timer through the countdown.

good idea. but I'm a low maintenance sorta admin. I was mainly looking to see if this is expected behavior. Thanks for the alternative.
