I'm currently running Ubuntu Feisty until I get E17 installed in Gentoo. I'm using the fglrx drivers and I get horrible framerates in BZFlag (~15-20 fps)

In case it means anything, here is glxgears, fglrxinfo, fgl_glxgears, and glxinfo

Edit2: Oops. Didn't see the plaintext password! At least it wasn't the real one ;)

It's almost like the graphics card isn't being used or something. I've never had a problem with 2.0.8 before even though it would regularly use 3/4 of the processor with full graphics on.

When you start the client, what does it list for the OpenGL Driver?

Also, try disabling the Energy Saver option in the display options menu, disabling shadows, and/or run the game at a lower resolution.

OpenGL driver says: Radeon 9600

I just noticed that I also get a "Could not set Gamma: Gamma correction not supported on this visual." when I exit the game, which I never had before.

Disabling evergy saver doesn't help either. Still extremely low framerates...

I don't understand why I should have to run at a lower resolution or disable graphics to get an acceptable framerate if it worked perfectly well before???

Still slow with no shadows and I don't know how to change resolution outside of windowed mode...?

Edit: Could it be a display issue? Everything from the terminal starts on :1.0 instead of :0.0 (which is why I use -display :0.0 on glxinfo, etc). :1.0 has no DRI, but :0.0 does. Is there a way to start bzflag on a specific display?
