freezing in leopard

Post by a dead man »

any body been experiencing bzflag suddenly freezing in leopard? been happening to me in several instances, luckily opt-command-esc gets me out of it, so its only the game thats affected.

btw, the same thing happened with ut2k4 and q3 arena, it suggests something inherent in leopard, perhaps opengl needs to be looked at? (i thought this because it's the only thing I can think of in common, not all games were played online)

A quick google search turned up quite a few posts about Leopard and OpenGL problems, more than I would have expected with leopard being so new. So the OS does appear to be at least a contributing factor.

A few more details might be of interest. E.g., which Mac have
you tried it on, which gfx card does it have, and which version
of bzflag are you using?

Thanks,

Snick.

thats BZFlag v2.0.8 on a 1Ghz G4 quicksilver 2001(2?) fx5200 with 1.25Gb ram.

Never ever happened under 10.4.xx, so I dare say it's not the hardware

haven't tried it on mac intel yet, haven't got the <ahem> upgrade <cough>
