Windows:
C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\My Documents\My BZFlag Files\2.0\config.cfg

Mac OS X:
~/Library/Application Support/BZFlag/2.0/config.cfg

Linux & unix:
~/.bzf/2.0/config.cfg

Let your search bar search for "config.cfg"
Which OS do you use?

What "didn't work"? Was the file not there? Did you not know how to open it?

ok theres nothing difficult. im running windows vista on an alienware computer. i tried searching config.cfg and it didnt work. when i say it "didnt work" i mean nothing came up. i want it straight from the basics. i remember a notepad-like file would pop up and you can type w/e you want in there

Have you run the game at least once? Could be the file doesn't exist yet as it will get created the first time you start the app.

The game has an interface to set keys. Only time you need to edit the file is for adding extra stuff. I always add an extra zoom level, but most everything else is through the game itself.

For vista the path is slightly different:

Code: Select all

"C:\Users\<user>\Documents\My BZFlag Files\2.0\config.cfg"
( <user> = Your computer username )

Vista searches by default just "indexed" files, and standard just few files are "indexed", so by default it won't find config.cfg
