I recently move from RedHat Linux to Gentoo, and I have some performance problems. I have a Matrox G450, and under RHL, I usually get about 15 fps, with smoothing enabled. Under Gentoo, I get smooth gameplay (over 30 fps) unless i enable smoothing. It slows down to a crawl, and i get about 7 or 8 fps.
glxgears reports the same fps on both install. glxinfo reports that dri is active on both install too.
any idea where i should investigate?
