Flight joystick for BZ

does anybody use a Fighter jet type joystick for BZ?
any other thoughts about it?

i just got the joystick (logitech X3D) but BZ Flag wont pick it up....

What operating system are you running? Does the joystick show up within your operating system control panels?

Mac Os X...
under "system preferences" i have a "logitech control center"
but the joystick doesnt show up there
and i dont know where else to look in the preferences
at least it works with the flight sim!

Okay. And what exactly did you try to get it to work in BZFlag? Were you able to select your joystick device?

i tried to get it to control the movement/firing/ect.

In the Input Settings menu you have to select the joystick device... And then you have to assign directional axises on that same page to the tank movement.

I use a flight simulator joystick for bz, logitech extreme 3d pro, got it for like $10-20 on ebay.

I have a thumb button that i use for jumping, and all of the buttons on the side i use for stuff like GM and Binoculars.

When configuring your keymap, press enter on the item you wish to control, then press the button you wish to control the item with. EX binoculars: Joystick button 5 or b

hope that helps.

Also, joystick button one is fire for me.

Yes I do, I got really into them, I played x plane, the problem is configuration is a bit difficult and i got lazy because flightgear was already configured for me. I just use flight gear. unless I'm actually training, then i use Microsoft flight sim because it is approved for actual flight training, I was studying aviation until my friend showed me bzflag, then i magically got into studying computers.
