I just installed bzflag and the following problem occours:
extremely heavy flickering (already on the start screen, before entering a server)
Setup:
Hardware: Core 2 Duo, 4 GB RAM, Radeon 5440, LG TV 46"
Software: Win7 SP1, actual updates, graphics driver up to date (just installed it new)
bzflag definitely uses the radeon drivers (OpenGL: Radeon 5450), the problem occurs with bzflag 2.0.10 up to 2.0.16 (haven´t checked older versions); other games play without a problem.
Any idea where the problem is? Thanks in advance,
extremely heavy flickering

Re: extremely heavy flickering
Seems like your escape key may be stuck. Disconnect your keyboard, and see if it continues.
Take a look at my Defender game mode concept.
Thinking is not an automatic process. A man can choose to think or to let his mind stagnate, or he can choose actively to turn against his intelligence, to evade his knowledge, to subvert his reason. If he refuses to think, he courts disaster: he cannot with impunity reject his means of perceiving reality.

It´s not the escape key.
I tested with different keyboards and without any PS/2 / USB devices connected.

Does the background flicker along with the text, or is it just objects and foreground? Are you running windowed or full-screen?
And the lesson for tonight is:
Never underestimate the ability of a newb to expect instant success and cry "cheat!" when they don't get it. Don't hate the newb, just give them plenty of learning opportunities.

Re: extremely heavy flickering
As far as I know BZFlag has the anti-flicker option in 2.0.16 (Options->Display), have you tried that?
