just switched from vista to ubuntu, tried to download bzflag from here "http://pkgs.org/ubuntu-12.04/getdeb-gam ... l.deb.html" the downloads worked but the problem i had was when i went in-game there were only six servers available.

You need to download and compile from source for the time being. 2.0.x is what is in the debian/ubuntu repos and our current version is 2.4.2 .

You need BZFlag 2.4.x, not BZFlag 2.0.x.

If you do indeed have Ubuntu 12.04, you can add this PPA here temporarily to get BZFlag 2.4.2: ppa:ryanakca/bzflag

That's a build by someone working on getting an updated BZFlag into Debian and Ubuntu. Just make sure to remove whatever version of BZFlag you installed first.
