Nintendo 64 usb classic controller from Retrolink

I have recently acquired an N64 usb controller and have been trying it on bzflag. I am using Linux, in particular Fedora Core 16. I am having problems with the analog joystick on bzflag, it is behaving like a digital joystick. In other words, regardless of the degree I move the joystick from center, the tank moves/turns full speed. As you know, it is important to be able to control speed for precise aiming/jumps. My system seems to recognize the precise anolog movements when I check the system settings. Any suggestions?
