creating a adminstrator account through regedit

Post by Danji »

windows 7.

I recently got my password changed by some jerk and I only had 1 admin account, also I'm using a recovery disk and accessing registry editor through command prompt, I can't use system restore and I can't,or system image restore, because I forgot to make restore points :) .

these are the instructions I used--> http://www.howtogeek.com/75470/how-to-e ... -registry/

and this what I get every time I type"%windir%\system32\config\SAM" inside of the file field name--> cannot load x:\windows\system32\config\sam: the process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.

Unfortunately, these forums aren't for general technical support.

Google is your friend... search for "reset windows administrator password". Let's just say you are doing it the hard way.
