Displaylink

Post by alcatraz »

Hi all,

I am having an issue when my laptop is connected via a dock using displaylink.
The display is dark, barely visible.
Changing the brightness in game settings doesn't make a difference. It just stays the same.

Running Win10 pro 1909, game is set to use MX250 card, connected to the dock via USB3.

I am already running latest drivers.

Thanks,
alc

You'd be better off using one of the display output ports that are connected to your actual graphics hardware. (There are also USB Type-C docks that can use the alternate DisplayPort or HDMI modes of some Type-C ports, though you'd have to know what the dock uses and what the computer supports.) DisplayLink is going to act like a separate graphics adapter and it sounds like there's a various problems getting accelerated 3D graphics working with them. You could try these workarounds:

Thanks blast.

I confirm, when using a USB-C dock, which does passthrough, the issue is not present.
I am stuck with this dock for now.

This can be closed.

Thanks,
