Making a server public!?!

Help with Setup, Hardware, Performance or other Issues...Or just pimp your rig.

Making a server public!?!

Hi iv just set up my server but the default URL for the server list does not word :cry: . I was wondering whether anybody on here would be able to help me?

If you have a firewall, make sure you have the TCP and UDP port open. The default port is 5154. Also, if you have a router, make it forward traffic to the computer your server is on. Finally, make sure your -publicaddr is correct.

Either your ip address, or a hostname pointing to your ip address. For example, I have a hostname from DynDNS.org, so my publicaddr would be "blast.game-host.org:5154". I could also use "216.138.191.132:5154". Of course, my address constantly changes, so I would have to update my bzfs script each time.

thnx blast, i was wondering how to solve the problem of a dynamic ip adress, but now i know ;)
