High jitters can be fix?

Post by rufitos »

HelloS,

I have problems of high jitter on Mac OSX.
One way to reduce jitters, is that need to turn off the chat panel and get my radar settings on Fast.
When i play with chat panel on i get +-30 and when i take it off around +-1.

Is ther away to fix this problem?

Info :
System Version: Mac OS X 10.3.8
Machine Model: Power Mac G5
CPU Speed: 1.6 GHz
Memory: 256 MB
Nvidia FX 5200 Ultra 64

Is there a way to check there's nothing busily using CPU or disk while you're playing?

Related: (Wasnt sure if I should post a new Topic, I'm a n00b at this)

I'm kinda getting the same problem with my WinXP. Everything works perfectly except when someone uses shockwave. If I get too near I get major jitters. Feels more like earthquakes. I tried lowering the setting, but it only helps a small bit. Another thing I noticed is that the CPU runs at a constant 100% when playing BZflags. Help please?

Basic Specs:
Laptop with Centrino 1.5ghz
512mb ram, 64 mb intel graphic card
1084 down / 311 up bandwidth
Zero spyware/viruses.
It's called passion, not luck.

This sounds like you get low fps? Can you test with 't'? Also, the font and radar rendering seems to be a bottleneck. You can try and use the (potentially ugly) bitmap font renderer as an alternative and see if your fps increase. To do so, add

Code: Select all

set useBitmapFontRenderer 1
to your config file.

Instead of switching off the console, you can alternatively try and set the panel to all opaque.
