Mighty Mouse?

Post by a monkey »

Will anyone with the Mighty Mouse care to see if BZFlag recognizes the right, third, and fourth buttons (and scroll wheel) of the Mighty Mouse as "keys" to bind with BZFlag actions? This info will help me choose whether to invest in the Mighty Mouse or not.

Hi,

First of all: the mighty mouse is provided with a cd with the mouse driver.
However that mouse driver is ONLY applicable if u're running with at least OSX.4.2, otherwise that mouse driver is not needed and can't be installed.

For my part i'm using indeed 10.4.2, so i've applied that mouse driver.
With that, all buttons are recognized with bzflag.

But can't say if it will be the same when running with OSX < 10.4.2 (as u can't apply mouse driver), as i don't really know what the mouse driver is bringing as additionnal features.

cya.

USB Overdrive...

Shareware but extremly helpful... might work with your mouse...

I know it'll work with any gamepad or joystick that works on mac.

I'm on OS 10.4.2.

But I think the mouse can be recognized pretty easily - you don't ever need drivers for use with Windows.

My friend just got the Mighty Mouse, and tested it out with BZFlag. All of the buttons can be recognized with the exception of the scroll wheel being used horizontally. It can be recognized if it's being used vertically. (According to him. I don't really know.)

yep,
scroll horizontally is not working ..as is it was vertically.
Otherwise all is working.

PS: i never said that the mighty mouse doesn't work when being with a release < osx.4.2 .
This is just that no mouse driver is needed, but the mouse is recognize. However if there's a driver for 10.4.2, i guess that it provides something special (but don't now what, maybe customize for dashboard).
