Compiling 2.0.4...

Post by Saturos » Wed Sep 14, 2005 12:00 pm

Hi all! :)

I just tried to compile the 2.0.4rc1 tarball on my SuSE 9.3... my problem is (and it happened too when I tried to install 2.0.2 from source) that it won't create a client binary. In addition it says "no SDL" while I have SDL installed.
Here is the ./configure-log (yes, I am trying to install in a home-directory because if I install system-wide I cannot minimize the client).

I am quite confused... I have ncurses, SDL and GL. And I thought they were set up properly. :?
Any ideas?

Hi,
You say that you have SDL.
But ensure you have installed : libSDL1.2-devel (as i don't have suse i can't say the exact named rpm it will have)

About GL:
Ensure you have installed : libxorg-x11-devel and libclanlib2-devel (same as above about naming on suse)

Regards, yums

Suse 9.0 and 9.1 (last I used) ships with a broken sdl-devel package that our scripts can't detect. If 9.3 ships with the same brokenness, you'll need to install sdl from libsdl.org instead of from Suse.

If you are using suse's packaged nvidia drivers, you need to get the corresponding devel package for them in order for bz to compile correctly. If you are using some other video drivers, get the mesa devel package.
