BZFlag problems on 64bit systems

Post by Ice Wewe »

I've mostly just heard this from various people, so I was wondering, does BZFlag really have problems compiling on 64bit systems? I'd like to know because I'm planning on going 64 soon. Errr, just thought I should add that this would be Linux, running in 64bit mode.

some of the older versions do have problems in linux ( 2.0.2 for example )

current 2.0.5 cvs seems to work just fine when built on 64bit AMD linux

there are some problems with dual cores under linux using the smb kernel.

under windows the binarys run just fine.

I may be the exception rather than the rule, but I've had less grief compiling from source on 64bit than using binaries/building rpms on 32 bit systems.

yes, if you are 64bit linux, you want to build your own, it works a lot better then using the packages that were built on 32 bit systems.

Crossed wires, I'm not using binaries cross platform. I build/use rpms on 32bit==trouble, compile from source 64bit!=trouble. Now I have the dep-tree sorted CPS on 32 is ~=trouble_free.
