We need more information than this. What Operating System do you have, what client version do you have, what else is running on the PC, what else are you doing while paused/observing, what is your lag normally on the server where this happens, does it happen on all servers or just a select few?

Give us as much info as you can, from your current description I couldn't really give you any advice.

i have windowsXP. version 2.0.4 (this prob happens on all versions). nothing runs on my pc other then bzflag cuz if i do i lag alot. doing nothing while observing sept talking to ppl. my lag is between 96-+ 2ms all the way up to 198-+22ms but it happens no matter what my lag is. and the only server it doesnt happen on (so far) is ePOCH 50player server or whatever that one is.

Have you tried the newer version? Sometimes that fixes things.

You can get it here:

This happens when a person has a router. It happens to me too. What make/model router do you got?

I got a D-Link DI-604 and it goes NR - except when I unplug it (in fact, the devs claim it is router related too).

The model # will be on the bottom, where it says "Model:" most likely :)

Yup, it's your router. D-Links are pretty cheap (imho and from personal experience)... and so far I know a couple other people who have the same problem with a D-Link. :P

Sorry, can't be fixed (the devs even tried with a "UDP heartbeat").

Get a router that doesn't have make you go NR. That's all you can do.
