when i downloaded version 2.0.8.When i started the game it came out as version 2.0.6 so how do i get it to version 2.0.8 to work?????

UN Install 2.0.6 first. Then try running 2.0.8

what are clicking on?

are you clicking on the icon in the quick start?

If you are, chances are the old icon is still there....

Let's make it easy and simple...
I think you installed BZFlag 2.0.8 in the easiest way...means...you clicked everywhere on 'OK' and 'Install' (and so on) without changing any paths?
In this case please try to run the following file:

C:\Program Files\BZFlag2.0.8\bzflag.exe
(for english Windows installation)

If this works and you see it's 2.0.8, than change any icon links on your desktop by replacing their paths OR delete them and create new icon links.

BZflag 2.0.8 is the same exact thing as 2.0.6, just a bug fix. so it looks exatly the same and has the exact same fetures. SO there is nothing new.
