Client not using UDP?

Post by Sneederjabbit »

Sometimes when I join a server, after a period of time (usually seems to be right after I shoot a few bullets), it kicks me out and says that my client isn't using UDP and to please update my client.

HOWEVER, I do have the newest version of BZ Flag ( Windows v. 2.0.8 ). I'm currently running it on a Win XP comp. Just in case it might be affecting something, I'll go ahead and say I have Windows Firewall enabled, and another firewall built into the router.

Is it a problem with the client (should I try an older version?) or do I need to change any windows settings? Any suggestions?

It's your router. What brand/make router do you have (and maybe we can change some settings)?

also make sure that your windows firewall is set to let the game send both TCP and UDP packets out.

I have this problem every once in a while. The fix for me is to restart BZFlag and try again. :)
