Anyone have the realy old BZ textures?

Post by Sir Lance-A-Lot »

Yeah, I have a sudden yearning to play BZ with the CLASSIC textures - Just to bring back the memories of the good ol' days....Jeff, would you happen to have these laying around - like, well before version 1.10.8? Or if anyone else has them, I would be ecstatic.

Something like this screenshot:

Thanks.

Thanks Jeff - I may mess with the SGI RBG ones some other time - For now I got the 1.10.0 ones - they're almost the same.

I stuck them in a zip, in case anyone else wants them without downloading the old BZ builds.

Now, if only I could figure out a way to get those old fonts in the 2.x versions...

Download Here

Sir-Lance-A-Lot

I downloaded the stuff, but can't figure out how to put it in the game. If you can help me, that would be great!

Sorry, I just noticed that the ground texture in there is wrong - I'll fix it and get post the new version / instructions as soon as I can.

they are in SGI RGB format. however your system is setup to handle those is up to you.

bzflag will not read that format anymore. you would have to convert them.

or just grab the zip file that Sir Lance-A-Lot linked to, they have been converted.

MediaFile still reads SGI files just fine (and we still build the SGIImageFile code), so you just have to convince BZFlag to ask for them. From the code, renaming them to .png should do the trick (if you are not using SDL_Image). Alternatively, recompile with MediaFile::getImageExtension changed to "rgb".
