Post by g4force »

Hey,

I've been having alot of lag lately (even when I don't have anything else running)

is there anyway I can fix that? is it my wireless router?

Could be...
My advice would be to make sure that your wireless router has the latest firmware from the manufacturer (if you can) and also make sure you have the latest driver for the wireless card on your computer. I have had wireless NIC drivers cause serious lag issues and updating them fixed the issue.

Also, to quickly rule out wireless as the cause, hook up a network cable to your router directly. If that eliminates the lag/jitter/loss, you know that your WiFi is to blame. You can also try changing your WiFi channel (Normal ones to try are 1, 6, and 11, as those are the channels that don't overlap each other). The WiFi channel would be configured in the router itself.
