Teamwork = Fun

Post by EvilChickenNugget »

Just had the most fun I've had in BZ in a long time.

Sportchick and I teamed up together on secretplace.us (as rogues) and pretty much decimated everyone else there. Wasn't long before we found ourselves at the top of the leaderboard... When I signed off I had a 50 point margin over the next highest person. Lots of fun.

We watched each others backs, kept one another informed about the location of good flags and players with ST, and teamed up to kill whomever was becoming a nuisance with GM or Laser...

It is rare to have actual teamwork anymore.

Anyway, if you're reading this: Thanks Sportchick, hope we can do that again sometime.

i had teamwork a while back, me and jomojo in hepcat where guarding our flag inside the box, i would be in one corner, him in the other. it was real fun.

Explicit teamwork eh? That'd be nice, but in the chaos of a high-play map - especially secretplace - I barely have time to breath before I'm blasted apart again, much less get a message out about potential threats and useful flags. Like many others, I just rely on implicit assumed duties, based on obvious motions.

Heh, sounds like fun. I never team as a rogue but I've thought in the past it would be fun.....my main problem is not being able to type fast enough. :)

Now, if teams (or rogues teaming) used voice chat..........wow! I think in this sort of game you'd have a huge advantage. But then you reduce bandwidth available for BZ. :( One option would be to use your highspeed connection (or a second phone line, if you're on dial-up) for BZ, and connect in RW or something on a dial-up connection.

Actually when I played for Consumption we tried out voice chat a few times during CTF games. It actually worked out pretty well. Though it does change the game dynamic, which takes a little getting used to.

ah voice chat, who needs it when you can read minds :)
this is how i feel when i play with freelancer, and carnage and |tim| .... we just seem to read each others minds :)
it is funny too, cause sometimes carnage and i will say the same things at the same time, that happens a lot..lol

I've lost my taste for everything Half-Life related since they started using their Steam program. I don't even bother with it anymore, too much of a hassle.

I want headset support! Imo an important thing for team-based online-games.

Usually yes. Though somtimes enemies benefit by cooperating.

Rogue is the best to be becouse you dont get hit by G and you can kill all. sometimes when i see a friend we join purple and kill but not often.
