You might be able to get free hosting at www.snake-inc.com which is the host I use. You have to register on their forum, then read the FAQ in the free hosting signup forum carefully. They can give 100MB of space, 2GB of bandwidth, PHP, and FTP. Their big thing they want is content.

pat, right now i used 491.7 kb with HTml files
and with pics i used 6.9 mb(i plan keeping the pictures on this site)
im almost done the site so maybe total 1 or 2 Mb just for the html files.

I can set you up with a subdomain on my site (www.geektechnica.com) if you like.
For example: http://shellshock.geektechnica.com
I've got a gig of space on this webserver, and I'm only using ~20 megs or so of it, so space isn't an issue. The server is running PHP if you need it, and I can also set you up with MySQL databases if necessary.
If you're interested, send me a PM
