does anyone think that a smartphone application for BZFlag would be a good idea

Allow observers to watch matches on their phones.
Depending on interest other features could be added.
such as a version in which users could actually play BZFlag on their phone.
or it could turn into an administrators tool for server configuration, banning cheats etc..
or simply to add BZFlag themed wallpaper, ringtones to a phone.

This was done already at one point. People have been able to log in from their phone and access chat like irc with the servers. If that was possible I don't see why you couldn't rig one up with controls for vision.
