a new idea - team death match

Hi all,

I've decided to propose another idea for BZFlag.
There has been a number of ideas and concepts for game modes.

From simple to complex, there has been a large number of modes made.
There is still some modes which have not been made/implemented.

The idea for a team death match is players will spawn on opposite ends of a map.
Players are armed with ST flag and 20 shots, but to make it more interesting, the shot type is changed to rapid fire.
This game is determined by which team can win 5 rounds first.
Each round lasts 2 minutes and the team with the most players alive at the end of the round wins.
In the event of an even number of players left by the end of the timelimit, it is a tie.
Players have 1 life per round as well.

Only thing is I'm not sure if the spawn time can be controlled/adjusted.
(This way players all spawn at the same time when the round ends.)

Our "Free For All" is already what "team deathmatch" is in other FPS games. What you're describing sounds more like a team-based last man standing with some minor variations in the rules.

The server returns the spawn message/location to the client after it requests it. You could have the server delay that when people are supposed to stay 'dead'.

Yes, it is last team standing.(My bad with using the incorrect term/mode.)
The variations are basically somewhat trying to implement the mode as closely as possible.
(Players can't get limited amounts of shots, so super flags with limited shots are used instead.)

Games could also be won by reaching a certain number of points/kills by team.
First to 500 per team wins.
Skycolor could change depending on which team has the lead as well.
Map changes after one team has won the game.
