Are any bz players using the new Starlink satellite internet service?

Post by Para_Shooter »

Starlink is coming into fairly wide use, and I plan on switching to this odd "inverse cell-type connection" model where the towers hurtle past in random-seeming orbits, with the user stationary.

The latency is relatively low on average, but varies dramatically as the link to a given satellite is maintained as long as possible and very brief signal drops occur with some regularity, at least for now.

If anyone is gaming over Starlink internet, please reply back with details of your experience. Thanks!

PS - to see this all in action check out Starlink.sx for an up to date modeling of the current satellites, links, and coverage for a given area.
All your base are belong to me, make your time.

I would love to try this if only for the relative privacy it would offer - I'm currently in Mr Putin Land and pricey if non-existent. Unfortunately Mr P has also deemed that Starlink is illegal in RU so I hope they bring out a more portable dish :)

For the moment VPN is king.

but the issue with VPNs is that as addressed in viewtopic.php?t=20322 they block VPN connections.
