CTF Knockout on JumpingTowers, Sept. 18th

Post by VBD950 »

At 11:00 PM, GMT, Saturday sept. 18th, JumpingTowers will be hosting a 4 team CTF Knockout. In other words, once a teams flag has been captured 10 times, it is out. Last team standing wins. There is a max of four players per team (including rogue), so sign up here. I will be taking up one spot on the rogue team. Also, if you have any ideas for the knockout (rules, modifications), post them here for me.

What's the lag limit going to be? I'll play, but I usually get about 300 ms lag, so it depends.

lag...

The lag limit will be 370. Anything above that just becomes unplayable. Hopefully you can be in.

Sure, that sounds swell. I bet I could probably keep it under 370 for a very long time. Now the hard part: remembering :)

Sounds like fun

I'd like to play, on the Purple team of course.
I'd appreciate it if you send a reminder; I'll put it on my electronic calendar, but I use Eastern Standard Time, and I don't recall offhand when we go off Daylight Savings Time.

Sign me up, Scotty. I'll take blue. Now the tricky part is remembering to show up.

They don't win or loose. They are just there to disrupt things. Maybe we should have a rule that they are not allowed in the "Castles".

Hey, what prevents the rogues from picking sides in a match? Like, following red players around everywhere and making it impossible for them to capture, or giving green an escort?

Good point

Good point. I'll be there through the match. How about, if a rogue is consistantly picking on a team, i'll warn the rogue, and then kick him if he continues.

I'll ask a few of my friends what they think too. BTW, anymore people? I'm going for atleast 2 people per team.

I think I might be able to play, but wouldn't converting times mean that it would be 6PM EST? I'm not too good at converting....

So long as the mach doesn't take five hours, I'll take green. I also don't think I've played on that server, I'll check it out.

Woah, 11 GMP? Glad someone caught that, I would've missed it for sure. Let's see, that's like 6 EST, unless day light savings time messes that up, and I don't know if we're on that or not.

yes

Post by VBD950 »

I'm Eastern Standard Time, and it should be 6. If Daylight savings time messes that up, can someone tell me?

Might want to try this time zone converter. Just make sure to uncheck the "Use Current Time/Date". It can even determine if DST is in effect.

It gave me this:

23:00:00 Sat Sep 18 2004 in GMT converts to
19:00:00 Sat Sep 18 2004 in America/New_York

DST* is not in effect on this date/time in GMT
DST* is in effect on this date/time in America/New_York

Which I guess means 7pm for me....
