EndShot cedit kicks

Post by M1A2AbramsTank » Thu Apr 21, 2005 10:27 pm

Recently while doing my Cop duties on PlanetMoFo (i hope i can say that) 2 people were kicked by the server with a message and i quote [SERVER]: Kicking Player ***** EndShot credit:3. The only problem is that this is not the first time i've seen it, what's different is that it kicked an admin. This caused me to be POed, I want answers, if u don't have them find them because people r getting pissed about it!
I'm baaaaaaaaack!

it means that your client send out more endshot messages then the server things it shoudl have. Ether you have emence packetloss or the client sending the endshots was cheating.

This check is a way to help prevent the cheat where someone never dies because shots explode before they hit there tank. It may not per perfect ( I doubt it is ), but that is the why of that message.

whoa, calm down.

I belive you can set the number of credits it checks for, set it realy high, then it wont' kick. It's efective for many other servers.

the server does many anti-cheat checks so perhaps you should read the changelogs and manual pages on them.

Try to upgrade your server.. the default value is: 5

also you can do:

Code: Select all

/set _endShotDetection 5
or disable with (but I think you shouldn't):

Code: Select all

/set _endShotDetection 0

3 is enought for most of servers, but not good for slow net/servers

Planet MoFo is experiencing some growing pains. We're becoming a little popular, and getting more players then I can accomodate. I will make the suggested EndShotCredit change...

...but what I really need is a better host. Currently, it's hosted on my home connection. But should anyone be willing to donate some bandwidth - I would be most happy to negotiate a deal.

email me or PM through these forums.

Much love
...This has been a recording.
