What if people could come into a special betting server. You start with like 5,000 dollors and you bet on who is going to win. The players cant bet only they can be money into a pot that the winner gets. The winner also get the money that the people used to bet against him. Also though when you come back into a server or leave and come in to do a match you dont start againg with 5,000 you get as much money as you had when you left. If someone quit and they were winner everyone gets there money back but the person that did not quit get the money that he bet he would win. Also there will be a line you must wait to get in to battle. And it is a complete secret who you verse. Also winner goes on. Then there could be a sight were you register. If you did not register you still get 5,000 fake money but it wont save how much money you had when you left. At a sight you could register and there would be standings with the name of the registered player and how much FAKE money he has.

hmmmm, But how would I , the bettor, get money other than playing. Dont give the all the money to the player, just lik 25% the rest goes to the ppl who bet on the player, and there would have to be odds, which requires many things..

Dont think its gonna happen, Bzflag doesnt have enough devs to spare to give to this project, and kids play on bzflag, thats enough to deter me away from this project

I think betting on a free game is evil. Youre taking this in the way of a career type game.

If it was all fake money (no real money) that might be cool.

I don't like it... I think this game is good the way it is. I don't want to start down that path...

I don't like it either. I feel it is adding too much complexity to the game. Just leave it the way it is: sign on, shoot some tanks, done.
