There's always a way, you could hack the cilent or something, have it report invalid ID's....

But why all the work for such a little effect?

Recently, I've seen someone using the registered callsign (UNKNOWN), but I don't think this and that are connected.

I found out that people that know how to use this to their advantage can really depopularize a server.

Recently, I banned someone and instead of taking it like he should of he started spamming using "(UNKNOWN)" - he would keep saying "Unban me now, Meteorite!" or something like that all before he got rejected by the server for being banned (apparently he used hot keys).

I propose that the client cannot send any commands, text, etc until he has been accepted by the server (controlled at the server level).

UNKNOWN is a world weapon, in this case. L4m3r will release a new version of playHistoryTracker sometime in the far future, it will just say "Saber's rampage was stopped."

(UNKNOWN) has never been a world weapon it just says "L4m3r's rampage was stopped by World Weapon"

Ok to clear things up... TD-Linux was wrong, (UNKNOWN) appears in text when the MsgMessage was from an unknown IP address (meaning didn't belong to any players)

Meaning if I made a command like

/outMsg <servername> <message>

I could make (UNKNOWN) appear...

and* slots aren't used for identification for non-admin--to--non-admin...

and slots can be found out by anybody, just /msg # text

and it will show in the infobox who you messaged...
(tested on lasermania... slayer++ wondered how I knew the slots of most everybody :-P)

Thanks for clearing this all up then. That might not be the whole story but it sounds just about right. 8)
