new bzflag
About the best you could say is that it will be like BZFlag is now, but better (we hope)Geo Dude wrote:what would it be like though a new bz?
I don't think there is a list of what will definitely be in the "next" version. There is discussion from time to time on the irc channel of what they would like to see, and people are working on things, but until it's done...

The Release should be in a couple of months (from what was said from previous discussions)
It will most likely include some new features, maybe not, it might only fix some bugs...All in All, nobody know exactly what it will contain, all ican say is it will be similar to previous version, but better, hopefully...until then all we can do is wait =)

Thank you for providing that "oh so vague" update. Have you even downloaded the CVS, compiled, and looked at it? Or are you just guessing? The code is out there. Please can try it, and SEE what it has.Davy Jones wrote:The Release should be in a couple of months (from what was said from previous discussions)

Um, yeah they do. We know everything currently in CVS will be in the final version without a doubt in one form or another (98% of the time, once the patch is in, it's in, unless there is vehement opposition to it).Davy Jones wrote:Ehem...no one knows what WILL or Won't be included in final version.
Now please make sure you know what you're talking about first.

Thanks for stating things that were already evident to us in the first place.Davy Jones wrote:The Release should be in a couple of months (from what was said from previous discussions)

I am just stating that we can't see the future...it is entirely possible they might take some stuff out of the CVS build, It is VERY likely that they will keep what's already in the CVS build, i am not entirely wrong meteorite

I have never seen them take anything out of CVS ever. That is why I suppose that 98% of the time everything stays. Mind you, I keep up with development on #bzflag on IRC and CIA whereas you apparently don't.
Make sure you know what you're talking about before you start making statements that appear to be factual.

Possible? Yes. Have I ever seen it happen? No. And I really don't expect it to.Davy Jones wrote:You are mostly correct Meteorite, i'm just saying that it's possible, not likely, but possibleDTRemenak wrote:Nope.
(Seriously, no...nobody knows).
(And DTR's quote is in reference to when it's coming out... not on features in development)

For the non-chipheads in here, the most noticeable thing about the next release will be massively updated graphics. Hit the screenshots section of the forum for the goods.
