I'm not experienced with BZEdit, but I really don't see why it matters if the colors of the teams aren't what you expected them to be, unless you specifically designed the map to make use of them (writing "Blue" in box text or something). If it's that bad and there's no fix, simply go into the map file through a text editor and change the color value for the Base blocks.

(.)BIYA(.), just fix the map by hand.

or how about instead of whining like a child, you get the code and fix it.

If you'd look bzedit hasn't been worked in over 1/2 a year. It's dead.

It matters cause I cant make a CTF server it always confuses the server on the team colors. It wont let me have a CTF server it always turns it off.

sid6.7, it's not a thing that has to be decided, at present it's dead, noone works on any of them, noone has any plans to work on them, they are not mainline code, and noone has plans to make any new ones. So they are defacto dead. Bug reports will not be fixed, releases will not be made. I'm not saying somone won't pick them up, and that'd be great if they do, but I don't see a line anywhere of people wanting to work on em.

(.)BIYA(.)
just know that the editor does it backwards and reverse them in the editor, or edit the file, it's just text, it's not rocket science.

You don't need to know python to use the graphical editor, it works just like an application, it's just made in python.

Honestly ,whining makes devs NOT want to work on stuff, because then they wonder why they go thru time, pain, and effort for a bunch of brats who just complain?

ah well thats the life of the old software programmer complaints happen..

just went thru a big beta test of a game coming out... it takes lots of
hard work to make a good program bug free...

yes it does, but reporting bugs and helping the deveopers find and fix them is very difrent from comments like "this sucks" and topics titled "horible bugs", especialy when noone gets paid to do this stuff. It's great when users help you make your software better. It is great when you can turn out some realy pollished software. But you can't do that alone. And you can't be pestered into doing it by people who seem to take the stuff for granted.

The old topic of this thread that I changed to be more informitive ( "horible bugs" ), basicly tells me that my software is crap and that noone ever can use it. So why did I waste time making it? Why even bother to fix it if it's such crap. Why didn't the author of the post search the forum for others who have this problem to find that maybe it's been fixed in 1.6.3

Im sorry. :( I didnt mean to say it was crap its actually the best thing that has happened to me in my life. I love it. Im just worried that it might be worth less in the past and im just telling you some of the bugs that pester people and see if me was telling you the bugs would make it alittle easyer than finding it yourself. Sorry  :(

best thing on bug reporting is to

1) make sure the problem is unknow ( that means search ).
2) provide as much info as posible in as civil as a manner as posible.
3) provide samples on how to duplicate the bug
4) provide ideas on the best way to resolve the bug.
5) understand that there may be more about the issues then you see.

Still dosn't change the fact that noone works on bzedit.

I've made all my maps with bzedit.

BIYA: Yes that's a bug with it, blue becomes green, green becomes blue. The trick is....where you want the green one...put blue...put the green one where you want blue...

yeah too bad it is.

http://bzbb.bzflag.org/files/bze_1.6.3_installer.zip

the files never moved, just the atachment links to them.

I may not redo attachments, they may pose a security issue.

We may do a seperate upload section that provides links that can be used here.

Okay python is coding the map by hand like what it looks like when you open it in notepad. But to kind of continue the bzeditor theme just use a program that lets you see the map but you cant change anything while looking at it. You have to go back and type in the code.

I think this is what PyBzEditor is but i've never seen it before.
