2D Region Request

On some maps I've been writing, I've had to toss in blocks and pyramids to prevent spawning in certain regions (for example, in what I know will be high-kill areas, or areas which will be inherently confusing for the newly spawned.)

This is a waste of rendering work at runtime. It'd be nice to have an additional object in map files, a 2-D region in which spawns cannot occur. This would only be used at runtime when a spawning location is picked - it would require no rendering whatsoever.

I have heard talk about this for some time, but I dont think it has been added to the developers TODO list.

You might try adding this to the SF(sourceforge) Feature request, since that is what Tim Riker reads.

1.8 had the start of 3d regons in it's new map format, but was never adopted/completed
