kill downloads

I think the developers should have a key which when pressed stops the current world or texture downloads for dial-ups sake lol

no, u might not want to play on the map or u dont have fast enough internet to download all the textures and then of course play without the textures....

Just press F12 if you want the download to stop. 
Or wait and let stuff download. The client will cache the files, so it should only have to download them once. You can't expect the world to adapt to your limited bandwidth.
