You have a sound when... you capture the flag, have your flag get captured, team kill, or become the rabbit. What about a sound when you get team killed? Because sometimes i get confused in active maps how i get killed and the chat box is rising rapidly and cant see how i died. So i was thinking about a sound for getting tk'd. I think it would be like a "powering off" noise. What do you all think?

Really? Wow. There is always something i get wrong when i start a new topic. I still think it would be cool if we had a sound though.

Add a sound then. The game is open-source.

Yes, it would be pretty simple to add a sound when you're teamkilled I think. It could be done without having to wait for a new BZFlag protocol too, so we could see it fairly soon if someone codes it. I would do it myself, but I'm just barely learning C, and BZFlag is in C++.

It's probably a one line change. I'm sure you could manage it.Ratfink wrote:Yes, it would be pretty simple to add a sound when you're teamkilled I think. Maybe it is just a one-line change, but what line? And in what file? And what should it be? Only god knows (and maybe some developers).blast wrote:It's probably a one line change. It's simple research, not some mystical act that you seem to make it out to be.

There's a 'playSound' function that we use to play sound. Guess it's more than a one line change. Might be 2 to 4, since you have to add a define for that sound file.
