Health meter.

Have tanks have a set amount of damage they can take and give weapons different damage ratings.
That way it takes more to kill a tank than one shot.

As a side bonus, I was looking at other threads in here and I found one for making rabbits faster, better, ect... Well, I thought that Rabbits could be tougher to kill by giving them more health.

This would make it harder to kill...or be killed.

This idea has been proposed many, many times and has been rejected just as many.

Thats what a sheild flag is for. Otherwise your just changing the game.

Sorry, this is just one of those things, like moving turrets on the tanks or making the tank not parallel to the ground (i.e drive up a hill) that is just not going to happen because it would complicate the game and make it less like bzflag and more like any other random shooting game you can buy.
